First published in 1996, this originally appeared well before the publication of Common Worship: Daily Prayer which has promoted far wider interest in the monastic pattern of daily prayer with sales of over 25,000 copies. This new edition therefore will appeal to a much wider market, wherever daily prayer is observed: religious communities, cathedrals,large parish churches,theological colleges,'new monastic communities' springing up through Fresh Expressions. An 'office' hymn book is not intended for popular congregational use, rather it follows closely the daily monastic office, the calendar of saints and the seasons of the Christian year.
