There are many Saints

March 1 2016
Today (1st March) is St Davids Day. This is the feast day of David (Dewi) of Wales. He was a monk and bishop of the 6th century. He has been regarded as the patron of Wales from about the 12th century but there are few details about his life that are known. He was primarily a Saint in Pembrokeshire whence his cult spread through South Wales but there are almost no dedications in North Wales.

There are other Davids who are saints e.g. David of Scotland, David of Sweden and David the Bruce. Many of the stories are extremely interesting. One of the books we have on the saints is A Treasury of Saints £9.99. You will find it not just an interesting read but a good reference book to have on your shelves.
